When I first met Happy and Nikkie, what stayed with me wasn’t just their story, but the quiet pride with which they carried their roots. Living in California, yet deeply anchored in their culture, there was something beautifully untouched about that. Nikkie spoke about Happy’s love for music, how he plays the harmonium, and in that moment, an idea gently took shape. I told her I wanted to capture them in that space..something intimate, something real, where Happy would sit, play, and sing just for her and thats how we shot this beautiful moment.
