This pic brought me back in 2019 to one of my interactive sessions on Financial Freedom in India for women.
Financial freedom is the ability to live your desired life, make your own financial decisions, and achieve your financial goals.

According to the Humanity Welfare Council, 80 per cent of women in India struggle with financial literacy, and around 62 per cent of Indian women do not own bank accounts or have limited access to banking services. The statistic presents a stark picture of the dismal levels of financial literacy and freedom among Indian women. If India has to reach the next level of economic growth, women need to play a pivotal part in the same, for which they need to be financially empowered.
Here putting lights on few key schemes and programs designed and offered by Indian Government for women :
1. Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana
The PMJDY initiative was backed by efforts from the government to help women obtain basic bank accounts
2. Mahila Samman Savings Certificate
It is a risk free scheme dedicated towards Women's and Girls of all age groups. This scheme has been designed with the intent of encouraging women and Girls to save and invest. It will be available till March 2025 and offer a fixed rate of interest at 7.5 per cent.
3. New income tax regime:
The income tax slabs announced under the new tax regime are also likely to benefit salaried women and those engaged in formal employment—particularly from the middle class bacund—enhancing their capacity to save and take better investment decisions.
4. Stand up India Scheme
The Scheme facilitates bank loans between Rs.10 lakh and Rs.1 crore to at least one Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe borrower and at least one Woman borrower per bank branch for setting up greenfield enterprises.
