We often do not get excited by numbers, as what matters is quality of care and quality of interactions.

However, when we realized that Basic HealthCare Services has collectively managed some 500,000 healthcare visits since the start, we were filled with gratitude for being to serve non-stop for more than 10 years.

As the year comes to an end, here is what we hope and envision for the future of communities we serve - nutritious food for everyone, happiness and good health for all families, work and leisure for women and safe occupations for all men.

So there were 21 doctors in making from Delhi, Punjab, Maharashtra, Odisha and Tamilnadu. They came to BHS in Udaipur for 3 days to see rural India, to get out of the rut, to travel and to explore alternate ways to practice healthcare. And simply to rest.

In three days they saw lives of people that were invisible to them, their diseases and misery, but also their resilience and cheer. They saw empowered women delivering empathetic healthcare. They felt pain and exhilaration. They felt heard. Many realized that an alternate world of being and an alternate world of medicine is possible. And they reflected their own role in creating such a world.

They went back with many friends, memories, promises and dreams. Of a connected, justful and healthier world.
