Lockdown Butter Chicken - Homestyle.
Recipe:
Ingredients
500 gms chicken.
2 Onions, finely chopped
200 ml tomato puree
1 tsp elaichi
2 badi elaichis
1/4 tsp nutmeg (jaiphal)
3 cloves
7-8 peppercorns
2 tbsp chilli paste
1 cup dahi
2 tbsp mustard oil
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
100 ml fresh cream
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp garam masala
1 tbsp kasuri methi
Method:
Brown the onions, make a paste and keep aside. In a pan take some butter add a tsp of ginger garlic paste, add all the khada masala and add the tomato puree. Cook until the sourness of the tomato is gone. Puree this mixture, pass through a sieve and keep aside. In a bowl marinate the chicken with curd, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, mustard oil, ginger garlic paste and some salt. Set aside the chicken for an hour. Take a big kadhai, add some butter, add the onion paste, once nicely fried, add the tomato puree, cook until oil separates, then add the chicken and cook until nicely thick. Add honey, kasuri methi and for the surprise element, give a lovely koyle ka dum for 10-15 minutes to this gravy. Finish off with cream!
