Each one of the famous people below have died from a smoking-related disease.

With cigarette-related cancer reaching new heights, it's even more important that we get the message out there any way we can.

I'm not too sure how I would classify this series. I think this project sits on the border between photography, art and advertising, and is certainly a mixture of all these forms. I feel that it can live in either one of these spaces quite comfortably. I guess all of these art forms convey a message, and that’s really what I've tried to capture here.

It must be noted that when it comes to Steve McQueen, quite a few people would question if his death was caused by smoking or whether it was contact with asbestos that caused his cancer. I'm not sure, but my feeling is that, most probably, it was a combination, and I therefore chose to include him.
