The difference says everything.

In a few days, Cooper is marking a heartbreaking milestone—2 years in rescue.
Rescue anniversaries aren't something we celebrate. They're a reminder that another year has passed without the family this incredible dog deserves.

Cooper was recently staying in a temporary foster home. We got to see him come alive again. He relaxed. He smiled. He had a couch to curl up on, people to love, and a place to belong. We knew it was temporary, but we also knew he needed to feel loved, chosen, seen, and like he belonged again.

Now he's back in our kennel.
And you can see the pain in his eyes.

Cooper's story began with heartbreak. He was found abandoned on the side of the road—thin, neglected, and wearing an embedded collar that left a permanent scar around his neck.

Then his life changed.

He was adopted and finally experienced what it meant to have a family. Unfortunately, he was brought back and returned.

He's safe with us. He always will be.
But being safe isn't the same as being home.

Cooper deserves mornings on the couch instead of waking up in a kennel. He deserves someone waiting to come home to him. He deserves to know that he'll never be left behind again.

🐾 Okay… who has the biggest heart? ❤️ 🐾

We have two very special blind kittens waiting for someone to see past what they can’t do and fall in love with everything they can do. 🥹🐱

Meet Dain (Vanilla) and Xaiden (Bean)—two incredible sisters looking for a foster home or a forever family. 💕

These girls were found outside with their mom, Violet, after all three became very sick. Sadly, Dain and Xaiden suffered from severe eye infections that caused irreversible damage, and both needed surgery to have their eyes removed. But don’t let that fool you… these girls have not let anything slow them down!

They have adapted beautifully and use their amazing senses of hearing and smell to explore the world around them. They are smart, playful, loving, and ready to show their future family just how amazing they are. 🐾

💗 Dain (Vanilla) is the ultimate snuggle bug! She loves laps, being held, rubbing against her people, and even riding around on shoulders. She wants to be included in everything!

💗 Xaiden (Bean) is the playful little wild child! She loves toys, climbing, exploring, and keeping everyone entertained.

These two sweet girls would love to stay together, or go to a home where they’ll have another friendly animal companion. They do well with:

Their blindness does not define them—it’s just one small part of their amazing story. They are affectionate, playful, intelligent, and ready to bring so much joy into someone’s life. 🥰

After spending the last 10 years together, these sweet senior sisters are looking for a new beginning. Their beloved owner had to move into a nursing home, leaving Mabel and Mildred in need of a forever family once again. ❤️

🐱 Mabel is a fluffy little potato whose favorite pastime is soaking up attention. She'll happily follow you everywhere, weaving around your feet just to make sure she gets all the pets she deserves.

🐱 Mildred is the queen of routine! She expects dinner on time (and won't hesitate to remind you if you're late! 😂). When she's not supervising the meal schedule, she loves batting around and bunny-kicking her favorite toys.

These beautiful girls have spent a lifetime together, and we'd love nothing more than to see them spend their golden years in a loving home. They get along well with other cats and would do best with older, considerate children.

Dobby officially found his forever home on June 13, and it's safe to say he's been thriving ever since! ❤️

Not only is Dobby loving every second of his new life, but his adopter is too. Here's what he had to say about Dobby's transition into his forever home:

"Dobby has been the best boy since day one. He settled in immediately, even jumped right up into bed on his own free will and slept beside me on the very first night. We've established a nice daily routine for potty time, food time, frisbee (which he loves, btw), and other exercise. We really couldn't have found a better doggo. He really is a great dog and absolutely a Diamond in the Ruff!" 💎🐾

Stories like Dobby's remind us why we do what we do. Every dog deserves a second chance, and seeing them flourish in a loving home is the greatest reward of all. Dobby may have had a few quirks—like his fear of hats—but that never meant he deserved anything less than a family who would love him unconditionally. Every rescue dog has a story, and every one of them deserves the chance to write a happy ending.

Thank you for giving Dobby the forever family he always deserved. We wish you both a lifetime of adventures, cuddles, and plenty of frisbee games! ❤️

Yesterday was a huge success for Eleventh Hour Rescue with fifteen adoptions and eight fosters, but somehow, Winnie and Lizzie were the only two left behind. They are so incredibly tiny, and instead of sleeping on a warm couch last night, they had to go to the kennel. They look completely confused about why they missed the boat, and honestly, they do not belong in a kennel run.

Let's fix this immediately.

🪽🐾💖Sometimes, the greatest love stories begin with an adult dog.💖🐾🪽

A month after saying goodbye to their beloved Buddy, one of our adopters shared these beautiful words with us.

"We have had many dogs, and we are always a multi-dog family... but Buddy, you were special. He helped to calm and reassure our rescues. He was the bridge between us humans and dogs, but he always felt more human.

He loved so hard but always kept his independent side. He was compliant (but not submissive), and so well socialized, but walked this earth with a calm and confident nature. He was stubborn to a fault, made friends with the neighbor's dogs and kids, and sometimes made his own playdates. They loved him too.

We hiked every trail and walked during every soccer training and attended all the games together. He loved bleachers. I still see his shadow when I walk alone now.

For the first 10 years he slept with my youngest daughter... she was 2 when we adopted him and they were inseparable. As he aged, he started to need me near. He was my shadow. Still now, after a month, I feel him leaning on me in bed when I wake in the middle of the night but find only empty space.

His last gift to us was letting us know he was okay that it was ending. He was brave and calm, and seemed so at peace.

Buddy was a soul I will always be grateful to have loved, and I will never forget him."

Stories like Buddy's remind us every single day why rescue matters.

Every dog—no matter their age, breed, medical needs, or past—is worth fighting for. They're worth every dollar spent on their care, every late night spent figuring out how to save one more life, every long day in the kennel helping them learn to trust again, every phone call, every email, every transport, and every ounce of effort it takes to give them another chance.

To some, they're "just dogs."
To us—and to this incredible community—they're family.

Buddy's story is proof that when you open your heart to a rescue dog, especially an adult dog, you're not just changing their life. They have a remarkable way of changing yours, too.
