I congratulate you for creating the committee to steer the creative industry. That's a very good move.

I however wish to raise one concern. The committee comprises only of musician, comedians and content creators. This leaves me with one question, where do we fall in this equation?

This country has about 1000 self-published authors who each day pray that one day they will be able to live off their work. Some of the books we have published would be best-selling if we had the right systems and support. This is a group of young men and women of this country, asking the government to create an enabling environment in the industry which has been long dominated by traditional publishers who only thrive in exploiting writers.

Today, one of the most difficult things in Kenya is to have a Kenyan self-published author's work being adopted as a set book. This has been a reserve of traditional publishers and foreign authors.

We still request to have a meeting with you so that we can share more.
