Frontiers Children Development Organization (FCDO) has successfully procured and distributed 22 local goats to selected households in Loturerei as part of its ongoing livelihoods support initiative aimed at improving the wellbeing of children and their caregivers.
This activity forms part of a wider plan to distribute 80 local goats to 80 households across Loturerei, Kaitese, Lorugum, and Namoruputh zones this year. The initiative seeks to strengthen household food security and economic resilience among enrolled families through sustainable livestock support.
Prior to the distribution, beneficiary households received training on proper goat management from officers from the County Government Livestock Department to promote good care, productivity, and long-term benefits from the animals.
Parents and caregivers expressed great joy and appreciation during the distribution meeting, thanking FCDO for the timely support. Many noted that the goats will help improve household income, nutrition, and future stability for their children.
FCDO remains committed to empowering vulnerable families through practical and sustainable livelihood interventions that create lasting impact within the community.

“Planting Hope for a Greener Future"
Following a highly productive engagement with fellow ChildFund Kenya Implementing Partners, the CEO of Frontiers Children Development Organization (FCDO) led a symbolic and impactful tree planting activity at the FCDO compound.
This initiative was more than just a gesture—it reflected FCDO’s continued commitment to sustainable development and community resilience. Tree planting plays a critical role in addressing the effects of climate change by enhancing carbon sequestration, restoring ecosystems, and improving environmental health. At the same time, it contributes to food security through the promotion of agroforestry and sustainable land use practices.
As one of FCDO’s key thematic areas, climate change mitigation remains central to our programming. By integrating environmental conservation into our activities, we not only safeguard natural resources but also empower communities to build sustainable livelihoods.
This activity stands as a testament to the power of partnership and collective action in creating a greener, more food-secure future for generations to come.
