Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has announced a record-breaking achievement in the county’s Own Source Revenue, which has reached Ksh 2 billion for the current financial year.
Speaking after a church service in Katoloni, she attributed the success to reforms such as automating payment systems, digitizing revenue collection, and conducting comprehensive revenue mapping.
"When I took over in 2022, our Own Source Revenue stood at sh 1.1 billion. We grew the figure to sh 1.45 in the subsequent years and we have now hit sh 2 billion-the highest ever," the Governor said.
Governor Wavinya dismissed her critics, labeling them as former beneficiaries of corruption, and vowed to continue safeguarding public resources and enhancing service delivery.
