ORGANISERS REJECT CHANGE OF CHUKA CULTURAL FESTIVAL VENUE TO IGAMBANG'OMBE
Organisers of the Chuka Cultural Festival have strongly opposed a proposal to relocate the event from Magumoni to Igambang'ombe, claiming the decision was reached through consultations with only one senior member of the organizing team and the county government.
Speaking to the media, the organisers said shifting the festival to Igambang'ombe after several postponements is unfair and ill-advised, arguing that Magumoni holds deep historical and cultural significance to the Chuka community.
They further accused the county government of attempting to sabotage a festival they have organised for years without county support.
The organisers insisted they will not allow the Chuka cultural heritage to be undermined, maintaining that Igambang'ombe has a different cultural identity that does not represent the Chuka community.

ITARA SECONDARY SCHOOL BOYS, MAKURI GIRLS DOMINATE THARAKA NITHI BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS
Itara Secondary School's boys' team and Makuri Girls Secondary School emerged champions at the Tharaka Nithi County Secondary Schools Badminton Championships.
The two schools produced most of the county's top-ranked players, with Makuri Girls contributing three players to the girls' top six.
The top six boys and top six girls will represent Tharaka Nithi County at the Eastern Region Secondary School Games in Makueni beginning July 8.
Officials say badminton is gaining popularity in schools under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) system and are optimistic the county team will perform well at the regional championships.
