We held a public baraza at Ogwedhi in Suna West to address cross border conflicts this week. Stock theft and boundary disputes took centre stage. However, the main challenge noted is the fact that some livestock were stolen from the area the previous night and driven towards Transmara. We had to meet with the leaders and elders first before proceeding to the baraza which was given a wide berth by the Maasai community. However, those present called for more engagements with the neighboring Maasai and Kuria communities to consolidate peace in the area. Security agencies also gave an undertaking to ensure all stolen livestock are recovered and suspects prosecuted.

Peace-Net Kenya mobilised women peace actors from kangemi and kawangware to form the Dagoretti women caucus whose role in the community is to ensure that peacebuilding and women empowerment is entrench into the different activities happening in the community as well as the changing trends, one outstanding one being climate change adaptation
