Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has opened the door to a possible exit from the Kenya job, revealing that the limited nature of international football leaves him feeling underutilised.

The South African tactician said he thrives on daily involvement with players and continuous development, an aspect he feels is difficult to achieve at national team level.

“My experience in Kenya has been remarkable, unbelievable and very enjoyable,” McCarthy said. “But I feel I am too young to go so long without being active.

“I train every day. I want to be on the training pitch daily to improve players, and I feel this has held me back because I do not have enough time with them. When I see them, I only have a week to do what I can.”

The Government has rolled out an ambitious development programme to transform the livelihoods of the residents of Taita Taveta County.

Road projects costing 15.6 billion shillings are underway, and so are affordable housing, fresh produce markets and student accomodation projects totalling 9.8 billion shillings.

5,700 households are being connected with electricity at a cost of 951 million shillings, while 215,000 residents out of the total of 340,000 are enrolled into Taifa Care, the most consequential public health care programme ever rolled out in Kenya since our nation was founded in 1963.

After inspection of some of the ongoing Government projects in Mwatate Constituency, held a public sensitization event with residents at Mwatate Town, to update them of the full array of Government programmes and projects in Taita Taveta County.

With Taita Taveta County Governor Andrew Mwadime, Woman Representative Haika Mizighi, MPs Peter Shake (Mwatate), John Bwire (Taveta), former Governor John Mruttu, former Woman Representative Joyce Lay, MCAs and other leaders.
