Women in Siaya and Busia are advocating for stronger enforcement of laws that protect families and communities. Widows and daughters continue to fight disinheritance, while women’s groups are also pushing for stronger action against child trafficking and exploitation.
Ensuring that justice systems protect women, children, and vulnerable groups is essential to building resilient and equitable communities.

In Kisumu, women and girls working in the fisheries sector continue to challenge the exploitative Jaboya system, where access to fish is tied to sexual exploitation.
Women leaders are advocating for governance reforms in fisheries management that promote transparency, fairness, and equal economic opportunity. Ending Jaboya is critical to protecting dignity, improving livelihoods, and ensuring that women participate safely and fairly in the blue economy.

Women leaders in Narok and Kajiado are at the forefront of community efforts to end harmful practices such as FGM and early marriage. By engaging local leadership and advocating for stronger enforcement of existing laws, they are protecting girls while preserving cultural identity with dignity.
Through governance reforms and community dialogue, women are ensuring that tradition evolves in ways that respect rights, protect young girls, and strengthen community leadership.

Women in Nairobi continue to demand stronger accountability in urban governance. Everyday experiences such as harassment in public transport, unsafe streets, and unequal access to city services highlight the need for better policies and enforcement.
By strengthening governance systems and listening to women’s voices, Nairobi can build a safer, more inclusive city where women move freely, access services equally, and participate fully in civic decision-making.
