Health services in Kenya were devolved under the Constitution of Kenya 2010, giving county governments the primary responsibility for delivering healthcare services.
The Facilities Improvement Financing (FIF) Act, 2023 further strengthens healthcare by clearly outlining the roles of both county and national governments.
County Governments are responsible for:

📌Planning and allocating budgets for health facilities.
📌 Establishing and supporting Health Facility Management Committees.
📌 Managing and improving healthcare services within their counties.
The National Government is responsible for:

📌 Monitoring and overseeing the implementation of the FIF Act.
📌Providing policy and technical support to county governments.
📌Working with counties to strengthen healthcare service delivery across Kenya.
