Police in Kilimani, Nairobi, have recovered the knife believed to have been used in the killing of 25-year-old Ann Keya Ahuna, as detectives continue to review CCTV footage capturing the sequence of events along Kirichwa Road on the evening of Thursday, May 14, 2026.

The footage shows the suspect, her 22-year-old ex-boyfriend, leaving their workplace with her before the situation turned violent shortly afterwards in a public area.

Investigators say the woman attempted to run for safety into a nearby pharmacy after the attack began, but she was followed and repeatedly stabbed inside before collapsing outside the premises.

Kilimani Sub-County police commanders say statements from witnesses and colleagues are now being recorded to establish whether there were prior warnings or disputes reported at the workplace earlier in the day.

Detectives are also examining communication records between the two to determine the timeline of their movements before they left the office along Ngong Road where they were both employed, with preliminary findings indicating the suspect had earlier reported to work armed with a knife.

Investigators are treating that detail as central in assessing whether the attack was planned or triggered after they left the premises.

The suspect remains in custody at Kilimani Police Station as forensic analysis of the recovered weapon continues alongside reconstruction of the scene based on CCTV footage and witness accounts.
