HSM IP's Mrinali Menon and Shirly Ramirez presented on the importance of trade marks and warned about the dangers of counterfeits to over 50 high school students at Cayman International School (CIS) on 15 May 2026. This presentation was done in partnership with International Trademark Association (INTA)'s Unreal Campaign.

Our team also touched on the topics of plagiarism, technology, IP and the best practices concerning usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms.

Team HSM had a great time participating at RBC's annual Race For The Kids 5K in the Cayman Islands on Sunday, 3 May. This fundraising event supported One2One Cayman (formally known as Big Brothers Big Sisters) and their vision is for all children, youth, and young adults to achieve success in life.

For (26 April 2026), our team celebrated with the Cayman Islands Intellectual Property Office at their Pickleball Tournament. This year's theme for World Intellectual Property (IP) Day was sports - promoting the inventions, designs, brands and stories that drive the world of sports, inspire athletes and unite fans everywhere.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our much-loved colleague and friend, Oscar DaCosta, following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Beyond his professional life, Oscar’s compassion and commitment to helping others shone brightly. Together with his wife, Melissa, he co‑founded The Grey Area, a Cayman‑registered charity dedicated to supporting and raising awareness around brain health and brain cancer. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Melissa, his family, and the many friends whose lives he touched.
