Diyaluma Waterfall is the country’s second tallest waterfall and one of the most accessible. Like many places in Sri Lanka, Diyaluma Waterfall is yet another location that is entrenched in folklore.

The second highest waterfall in the island, it stands at a magnificent height of 220 metres. It is located approximately 40km from Ella, close to Koslanda on the side of the Colombo – Badulla highway, and is therefore much easier to access in comparison to the Upper Diyaluma Falls. The pool here at the foot of the fall is ideal for a refreshing dip.

The waterfall is formed by Punagala Oya, a branch of Kuda Oya which in turn, is a branch of Kirindi Oya. The horsetail type falls cascades down Koslanda Plateau. Ideally,
