World Ayurveda Day - Inauguration ceremony

ICCR in Sri Lanka and Faculty of Indigenous Medicine - University of Colombo in collaboration with the Department of Ayurveda, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, Sri Lanka and Siddha Medicine Eastern University, Sri Lanka observed 8th ayurveda day. The event was inaugurated by the Deputy HC Dr. Satyanjal Pandey and the Secretary Ministry of Health Sri Lanka was the chief guest. Over 400 guests attended

Students of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine - UOC won the National Level Inter College Ayurveda Quiz Competition Sri Lanka at the BMICH Colombo, on 9th September, at the ICAUST 2023.

Donations of medical equipment to the Professorial Units at the National Ayurveda Teaching Hospital- Borella

With the collaboration of the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, Serve Now Sri Lanka, a partner organization of Sweden’s Salvation Army, donated medical equipment to the professorial units at National Ayurveda Teaching Hospital, Borella on February 2, 2023.

The symbolic ceremony of this volunteer service was graced by the honorable state minister of indigenous medicine of the socialistic republic of Sri Lanka, the Additional Director, the Ministry of Health, the Commissioner of the Department of Ayurveda, the Director of the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, Director of the Serve Now Sri Lanka partner organization of global action Sri Lanka, Director, National Ayurveda Teaching Hospital, Heads of Department of Study in Ayurveda and Unani Medicine, professors and academic members of IIM, consultants and medical officers of National Ayurveda Teaching Hospital,
Borella.
The Kayachikitsa professorial unit, which were fully furnished with adjustable patient beds and supportive medical care equipment, and the physical therapy unit were unveiled to the Sri Lankan public on this day in order to provide an environment for teaching and learning for students in Ayurveda and Unani medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

This is the 20th Anniversary Edition (2004-2023) of the Webometrics Ranking, which evaluates the impact of a university’s web content, citations in top Google Scholar profiles, and top-cited papers during the five-year period from 2017 to 2021 in Scimago.
The University of Colombo’s commitment to excellence in research and teaching is reflected in its continued success in the Webometrics ranking and this year university outperformed its previous world ranking position from 1531 to 1468.

The program to select students for the media unit of the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo was held on 10.01.2023 from 09.00 am to 12.00 pm in the Mini auditorium of the institute.
