Xposure Event

A candlelight vigil organized by the Free Media Movement was held at Namel Malini Punchi Theatre in Borella, yesterday 24. This was organized to demand an end to the decisive investigations into the killings and abductions of journalists and attacks on journalists and media institutions. Prior to the candlelight vigil, there was a discussion as well.

President Counsel and President of the Sri Lanka Bar Association Saliya Peiris delivered the key speech before the discussion. Senior Lawyer Hana Ibrahim, Senior Lawyer Upul Kumarapperuma, and Senior Journalist Nawarathnam Parameshwaran made speeches during the discussion. Convener of the Free Media Movement Lasantha De Silva moderated the session.

මාධ්‍ය ආයතනවලට ප්‍රහාර එල්ල කිරීම, මාධ්‍යවේදීන්ට පහර දීම හා මාධ්‍යවේදීන් ඝාතනය කිරීමට අදාළ අපරාධ විමර්ශන තීරණාත්මක අවසානයකට නොපැමිණීම සහ ඊට අදාළ යුක්තිය ඉටු නොවීමට එරෙහිව නිදහස් මාධ්‍ය ව්‍යාපාරය සංවිධානය කළ විද්වත් කතිකාව සහ ඉටි පහන් දැල්වීමේ අවස්ථාවක් බොරැල්ල නාමෙල් මාලනී පුංචි තියටර්හිදී ඉකුත් දා (24) පැවැත්විණි.

ජනාධිපති නීතිඥ සාලිය පීරිස් මහතා මෙම අවස්ථාවේ මුඛ්‍ය දේශනය කළේ ය.
ඔහුගේ මුඛ්‍ය දේශනයෙන් පසුව විද්වත් සාකච්ඡාවක් පැවැති අතර ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ මාධ්‍යවේදීනි හනා ඊබ්‍රහීම් මහත්මිය, ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ නීතඥ උපුල් කුමාරප්පෙරුම සහ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ මාධ්‍යවේදී නවරත්නම් පරමේශ්වරන් යන මහත්වරු එහිදි අදහස් දැක්වූහ.
නිදහස් මාධ්‍ය ව්‍යාපාරයේ කැඳවුම්කරු ලසන්ත ද සිල්වා මහතා විද්වත් සාකච්ඡාව මෙහෙයවීය. මෙම විද්වත් සාකච්ඡාවෙන් පසු ව ඝාතනය කළ සහ අතුරුදන් වූ මාධ්‍යවේදීන් සිහිපත් කරමින් ඉටි පහන් දැල්වීමක් සිදු කෙරුණි. ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ මාධ්‍යවේදීන්, මාධ්‍ය සංවිධාන නියෝජිතයන් සහ සිවිල් සමාජ ක්‍රියාකාරීන් ඇතුළු පිරිසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ.
