Grand Bassa County Set to Receive First Batch of Earth-Moving Equipment Tuesday, July 21, to Boost County's Infrastructure Development

Buchanan, Grand Bassa County(July 17, 2026) – Grand Bassa County is set to receive the first batch of government earth-moving equipment on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in a major boost to the county's infrastructure development efforts.

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai is expected to officially commission the heavy-duty machinery during a ribbon-cutting ceremony, reaffirming the Government of Liberia's commitment to decentralizing road construction and maintenance across the country.

County authorities say the equipment marks the first phase of the county's allocation under the national initiative. A second batch is expected following the completion of work at the designated project site in Gemen Camp.

The arrival of the machines is expected to strengthen road rehabilitation and construction, improve access to farming communities, and enhance economic activities throughout Grand Bassa County.

Residents and local leaders have welcomed the development, describing it as a significant step toward improving transportation and accelerating development across the county.
