Montserrado County Electoral District #10 Representative, Hon. Yekeh Y. Kolubah, has formally requested additional time from the Committee on Rules, Order and Administration of the House of Representatives to enable him secure legal representation in an ongoing investigation.
In a communication to the Committee, Rep. Kolubah appealed for five (5) working days to retain counsel, citing the recent Fast and Prayer holiday and closure of law offices between April 10โ12, which he said made it difficult to engage legal services ahead of the initially scheduled hearing on Monday, April 13, 2026.
The lawmaker further noted that the matter raises significant constitutional issues, including questions regarding the Committeeโs jurisdiction, and emphasized the need to consult with legal practitioners experienced in constitutional law to ensure his rights are adequately protected.
However, during its hearing on Monday, the Committee granted the request in part, indicating that five days would be excessive given the limited timeframe of the ongoing Special Session. Following a motion, the Committee allowed a two-day extension effective Monday.
Committee Chair, Hon. James Kolleh, assured that the proceedings would be conducted in line with the Houseโs rules and procedures, guaranteeing due process. He subsequently announced Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM as the new date for the hearing.
Rep. Kolubah is currently under investigation for alleged โGross Breach of Duty and Violation of Oath of Office,โ pursuant to Articles 38 and 76 of the Constitution of Liberia.
Meanwhile, the Committee has also scheduled Grand Gedeh County Electoral District #3 Representative, Hon. Jacob C. Debee, II, to appear on Tuesday in response to a complaint filed by Nimba County Electoral District #5 Representative, Hon. Kortor S. Kwagrue, regarding allegations of financial impropriety linked to statements about funding for a legislative visit to the LiberiaโGuinea border.
The Committee is expected to continue its hearings as part of efforts to uphold accountability, transparency, and adherence to legislative standards.

โMarcy Giah, 26, is speaking out after her three children were found murdered in Mehnla Town, Nimba County. The victims were Mewaseh Giah, 6, Marvelous Zainsaye, 4, and Alvina Tokpah, 2.
โ
โMarcy says she left the kids with her mom, Mary Giah, on Saturday night and slept out with her boyfriend. Returning home around 6 am on Sunday, she saw her dad on the porch and went straight into the house.
โ
โAs she entered, she found Alvina lying helplessly on the floor. "I tried to wake her up, but she wasn't responding," Marcy recounts, her voice shaking with grief. "That's when I saw a deep cut on her neck, and a pool of blood."
โ
โOvercome with horror, Marcy rushed into the other room where the kids usually sleep. "I saw the two boys, their necks deeply cut, lying in a pool of blood," she said, tears streaming down her face. "I shouted 'my people, your coming for me oooo!' ๐ญ"
โ
โPolice have arrested Marcy's father, Mr. Giah, and her uncle, who had come to visit from Saclepea. However, the children's grandmother, Mary Giah, was missing. A search party, including police and community members, found her and turned her over to the police for investigation.
