YUGNet-Liberia Driving Youth Climate Action!
On April 30, 2026, Yugnet Liberia convened over 50 high school students in Montserrado County to introduce its NDC 3.0 Local Toolkit, developed with support from Actionaid Liberia.
For many, this was their first exposure to Liberia’s climate commitments. The session simplified key targets—from emissions reduction and forest protection to adaptation and youth inclusion—making climate policy accessible and actionable.
Beyond awareness, young people were empowered to:
✔️ Understand national climate goals
✔️ Take part in climate action
✔️ Hold decision-makers accountable
This marks a major step in localizing climate policy and placing youth at the center of implementation.
YUGNet–Liberia is not just participating in climate action—it is reshaping it.

Continuation of Stakeholders Engagement: NDC 3.0 Toolkit Validation
YUGNet-Liberia continues its engagement with key stakeholders in validating a special toolkit designed to localize Liberia’s NDC 3.0 across schools, universities, and vulnerable communities.
Following a dedicated development session, the process has focused on simplifying the NDC framework—making it more practical, accessible, and action-oriented for those most affected by climate change. This process is funded under the SPAII Project, supported by Actionaid Liberia.
The validation process held on April 28,2026 brought together respected youth climate activists and environmental advocates who provided critical insights into what stands as the first locally developed toolkit on NDC 3.0.
Once validated and officially launched, the toolkit will serve as a powerful resource to educate, mobilize, and empower young people and vulnerable communities nationwide. It will also enhance understanding of the NDC and highlight the important roles young people can play in achieving its targets.

We mobilize. We influence. We deliver.
YUGNet-Liberia is translating climate commitments into tangible action—cementing its role as a national leader in inclusive climate governance.
Through the successful validation and launch of the Gender & Youth Climate Technical Working Group on Climate Change and Environment (GYCTWG-CCE), we have advanced a bold, coordinated platform that centers youth, gender, and equity in Liberia’s climate agenda.
Held from April 23–24, 2026, this landmark engagement moved from technical validation of the Terms of Reference to a high-level national launch in Paynesville City—bringing together a diverse coalition of government actors, development partners, civil society, academia, women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
The outcome: a formalized, strategic, and inclusive mechanism that strengthens collaboration, amplifies underrepresented voices, and accelerates environmental governance in Liberia.
Implemented under Strategic Objective II( SO2) of the SPAII Project, with support from Actionaid Liberia , this milestone reinforces a clear message: "YUGNet–Liberia is not following the climate conversation—we are defining it."
