This almost glow in the dark looking lizards is the Yellow tree monitor (Varanus reisingeri) and was only described in 2005. This amazing arboreal monitor lizard species is completely adapted to a life in the trees with long claws, a prehensile tail and the ability to flatten their ribs and glide when jumping from tree to tree. Tree monitors poses venom glands in their lower jaws, giving them a noticeable venomous bite. Raptors of our time ! They are endemic to Misool island in West Papua, Indonesia.
