Liberty was considered a revolutionary thought at the time and continued to drive the spirit of the individual. Created after the Roman God, Libertas, the Statute of Liberty not only stood for Freedom in America but freedom for all races, creeds, and cultures. She is used in popular culture to stand for the empowerment of all people.
