[FIELD DIARY – ENTRY #91]
The MGL Was the Dream — Until It Wasn’t
Today, I finally got my hands on an MGL. Not during a battle. Not in a simulation. Just me, some free time, and an airsoft version of the launcher I’ve admired for years.
Six chambers. A magnificent rotating mechanism. That raw sense of dominance.
It’s been on my wishlist longer than I’d care to admit.
Everything about it screamed power. The U.S. Navy SEALs once used it against Somali pirates — flashbangs and tear gas lobbed into hijacked ships. Not lethal, just terrifying. Controlled chaos.
That story alone convinced me this thing was special.

The Letdown
While holding the MGL, I remembered a story I once heard:
When the MGL first hit the market, it was new, exciting, untested. A guy gave it a spin, and after 20 minutes of fun, the cheap plastic jammed a round between the chamber and the barrel due to misalignment. The round ignited — but didn’t leave the chamber. The guy saw smoke coming from the drum and threw the launcher to the ground. The round went off, scattering the shredded remains of the launcher all over the place.
That single incident was enough. TAGinn never touched the MGL style again.
Instead, they built what works:
TAG-ML36 — Simple. Battle-proven.
It fires one round at a time — but trained right, you can launch six in under 20 seconds.
And most importantly: every round actually fires.
No jams. No misalignments. No surprises.
Just launch, reload, repeat.

Final Thought
I still love the MGL.
But I’ve let the dream go.
When it counts, I don’t want flashy. I want reliable.
I want something that works — every single time.
TAGinn made that choice too.
For the same reason.
