France has banned Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir from entering its territory, Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced on Saturday. The decision came after the far-right official posted a video showing the mistreatment of detained activists who were part of the “Freedom Flotilla” in solidarity with Gaza.

Barrot wrote on X: “As of today, Itamar Ben-Gvir is banned from entering French territory,” condemning what he described as “indescribable actions” against French and European citizens who were aboard the global Freedom Flotilla. The vessel was intercepted by Israel off the coast of Cyprus, and the activists on board were arrested before being deported.
