The official results of the 2026 General Election have been formally presented to President of Malta Myriam Spiteri Debono by Chief Electoral Commissioner Joseph Camilleri.
According to the Electoral Commission, 312,129 votes were cast. Of these, 306,036 were valid and 6,093 were invalid.
The first count national result was as follows:
Partit Laburista: 158,444 votes (51.77%)
Partit Nazzjonalista: 136,723 votes (44.68%)
Momentum: 4,700 votes (1.54%)
AD+PD: 3,996 votes (1.31%)
Aħwa Maltin: 1,845 votes (0.60%)
Imperium Europa: 167 votes (0.05%)
Independent candidates: 161 votes (0.05%)
The Labour Party obtained 21,721 more votes than the Partit Nazzjonalista, securing a historic fourth consecutive mandate in Government, the first time this has happened in Malta’s political history.
The Prime Minister-Elect Robert Abela is expected to take the Oath of Office later this morning in Valletta.
