11 days, 2 boats, 1 ocean. 🌊⛵️

Crossing the Indian Ocean side-by-side with our friends on Infinitea (.afloat and Kyle) meant we were never truly alone out there. In fact, when they ran out of lucky fishing lures mid-passage, we set up a high-seas delivery service using just a line and a fender! It definitely paid off, resulting in some beautiful fresh Wahoo for dinner. 🐟

A passage like this becomes its own little universe. We had plenty of “locals” escorting us 🐬, enjoyed family Sunday lunches surrounded by 360 degrees of blue, and kept entertained below deck.

But it wasn’t all perfect sailing. Thanks to our routing, we saw a massive wind hole waiting for us in the middle of the ocean. Knowing exactly what was coming is a game-changer—we knew we’d have to motor through it, which made us incredibly grateful for all those extra fuel cans we scrambled to buy back in Langkawi! PredictWind’s accuracy takes the guesswork out of passage making. 💨📱

Swipe to the very end for the big picture: this crossing pushed us over 30,800 nautical miles (~57,000 km) and 28 countries visited over the last 6 years. The circumnavigation loop is getting smaller! 🌍💙

Which part of passage life looks the best to you? Would you do such a passage?

If you scroll down our page, you might remember our posts from last summer, testing out our brand new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 490 (Infinitea) around the beautiful Greek islands. 🇬🇷⛵️ But many of you asked: how did she get from the Mediterranean all the way to the Indian Ocean?

With the Red Sea route being too unpredictable, we had to make a massive logistical decision: we shipped her on a cargo vessel! 🛳️

After an unforgettable European shakedown cruise—sailing from Lefkada to Athens, Santorini, Sifnos, and Kos—we brought Infinitea to Lavrion, Greece. There, she was carefully loaded onto a massive cargo ship bound for Asia.

While she made her way across the world, we flew back to our home boat, Teatime (our Jeanneau 51), in Langkawi. A month later, we reunited with Infinitea in Phuket, Thailand, unloaded her from the cargo ship, and sailed her straight to Langkawi to begin the big outfitting process.

A huge thank you to the Hungarian Jeanneau dealer for helping us navigate this massive milestone. The SO490 performed absolutely beautifully! 🙌

Next up: The great Langkawi outfitting! We spent weeks installing all the essential upgrades for your comfort and safety—like AC, a watermaker, an inverter, and Starlink internet. Plus, we’ll introduce the amazing crew who helped us sail both boats across the ocean to the Maldives! 👇

Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄
We’re on Rebak Island with INFINITEA and TEATIME, getting both ready for an Indian Ocean passage to the Maldives. ⛵️

The marina ran a Christmas boat-decorating contest; we joined and were among the awardees. Big thanks to the marina and the resort for the kindness.

To all of you: your messages and support this year mean a lot. Thank you for being here with us.
Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and calm seas. ✨
