Today I exercised one of democracy's most fundamental rights. Every vote matters in shaping our nation's future. To my fellow Malawians who haven't yet cast their ballots - polling stations are still open. Your voice matters in determining our collective future. I encourage all eligible citizens to participate in this democratic process.

Yesterday, July 30th, 2025, I took a significant step in my political journey by presenting my nomination papers, declaring my intention to reclaim my seat as Member of Parliament for Mangochi North after eleven years. This decision comes from a deep sense of responsibility to the people who have been calling for my return.

Addressing my supporters after the presentation, I spoke honestly about what we can all see with our own eyes. The development activities I left behind remain stagnant, and little progress has been made in our constituency during my absence. The people of Makanjira thought they wanted change, but now they can witness for themselves what they have lost during this period.

I want to assure the people of Mangochi North that my comeback is not about politics—it is about service. I am returning to continue from where I left off and to give the people of Makanjira what they truly deserve: genuine development, reliable representation, and a voice that carries weight in the corridors of power.

After eleven years, I have gained invaluable experience at the national level, serving as Minister of Energy under President Chakwera’s transformative administration. I have seen firsthand how effective leadership can deliver results. I have been part of moving our nation from 9% to over 25% electricity access.

Now, I want to bring that same energy, that same commitment to results, and that same ability to deliver directly to the people of Mangochi North. The constituency deserves a leader who knows how to navigate both local needs and national priorities—someone who can turn promises into progress.

The people of Makanjira have waited long enough. It is time to finish what we started. It is time to deliver the development our constituency deserves.

This is not just a political comeback—this is a commitment to taking development forward for every person in Mangochi North.
