Today, we were delighted to welcome representatives from Emerge Livelihoods, who visited us to introduce the Going Beyond Project.
A significant number of young people from our youth club, Pakaya Youth Hub, expressed great interest in participating in the upcoming trainings under the project. We are excited about the opportunities this initiative will create for youth empowerment, skills development, and growth.

On Saturday, Pakaya Initiative, represented by our youth club leaders Olivia Chipeta and Emmanuel Kondowe, joined the youth of Mzuzu at the launch of the First Lady’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) programming initiative.
In her remarks, the First Lady encouraged young people to speak out and urged service providers and policymakers to create safe and respectful spaces where youth can freely express themselves. She advised adolescents to avoid early sexual encounters and to focus on their education, emphasizing that “everything has its time” and encouraging learners to work hard in school and complete their studies.
She also highlighted that 2 out of 5 new HIV infections occur among adolescent girls, describing the situation as a wake-up call for all stakeholders. The First Lady called for stronger interventions to address these challenges and encouraged youth organizations to expand their outreach, especially to young people in hard-to-reach areas.
We commend all partners and stakeholders working towards improving access to accurate SRHR information and youth empowerment.
