In Kampung Kerinchi, the existing preschools are scattered throughout the whole Kerinchi either in a shop lot or residential area, lacking of proper learning facilities with a serious lack of natural environment and playground to promote a balanced children’s development. Khai Ling's thesis proposal is a preschool that raised above the bazar ria which located at the most accessible and central part of the Kerinchi with a sensitively children scaled design for providing as much integrated learning with the natural environment with reference to the Waldorf education theory.

Amirul's thesis of a TVET school not only will be near with their homes, but it also gives an opportunity to the students who are having a bad performance in formal education in KL urban poor area. The street life concept is taken as part of education and to explore the idea of entrepreneurship where the business will be the frontage and the workshop or classes is located behind or away from the street as an enclosed learning environment.
