🍰 STORY TIME 😊
A peaceful morning — I was slowly sipping the last drop of my tea, no rush at all. Suddenly my phone rang: an unknown number, just once. I hesitated, thinking it might be a scammer… unlike the ones who’d been blowing up my line non-stop the past few days!
Then my phone buzzed a message notification. Guess who it was? A new customer! A lovely woman and a mother of two with a beautiful, unique name — I’ll call her Siti for this story, since she prefers to keep her details private.
Siti ordered a chocolate cake and shared a reference photo she found online. No problem at all… until the real challenge hit me:
👉 “Siti nak kek esok!!! ESOK ya.”
I froze for a moment (frozen gitu 😂), but I replied calmly anyway:
“Takpe, I prepare the cake untuk you.”
I agreed because she told me something that made all the difference — she’d completely forgotten her husband’s birthday and was rushing to get a cake for his surprise. 🤭
A golden rule for baking. Bake, chill, crumb coat and decorate. Yet, I made it through.
That night was my very first time preparing a cake overnight. I worked through the hours, and at 2:00 AM, I sent her a message with the finished cake photo:
💬 “Kek dah siap, Siti!”
Her reply? Pure joy — she was already over the moon just seeing the picture!
The next day, I delivered the cake exactly as she wanted. She paid for the cake, but I got an extra sweet surprise too: a warm cup of hot chocolate from Zus Coffee, as her way of saying thank you 🥤❤️😁
Sometimes the tightest deadlines bring the most meaningful moments. When you bake with heart 💜, every last minute is worth it.
