Philip Agbese says US intelligence backing will strengthen fight against terror

Philip Agbese, deputy spokesperson of the house of representatives, has hailed the deepening security partnership between Nigeria and the United States.

His comment follows the arrival of about 100 American troops in Bauchi to train Nigerian forces and provide intelligence support in the fight against insurgency and banditry.

The non-combat deployment, confirmed by Nigerian defence authorities, comes at the request of the federal government and aims to bolster counter-terrorism efforts against groups like Boko Haram, ISWAP, and other armed gangs terrorising communities nationwide.
