THE CORE VALUES OF A TRUE CHRISTIAN
In this generation, “Christian” has become a title almost everyone claims. But Christianity is not a label. It is a life patterned after Jesus Christ. Christianity is all about representing Christ everywhere we go.
Going to church does not make you a Christian the same way standing in a garage does not make you a car. Posting scriptures is good. Saying “God first” is beautiful. But the real proof of Christianity is visible in values.
The first and greatest core value is love. Not selective love. Not love only for those who agree with you. But sacrificial love. The kind that forgives when it hurts. The kind that gives without announcing it. The kind that chooses peace over revenge. If our Christianity does not make us kinder, softer, and more patient, then something is missing.
Holiness is another core value. And holiness is not about looking spiritual online. It is about living clean when nobody is watching. It is choosing purity over pressure. It is saying no to what everyone else calls normal because you know you represent Christ.
Faith is a core value. Real faith trusts God when prayers seem unanswered. It stands firm when things look opposite of what was promised. Faith is not noise; it is quiet confidence in God’s character.
Humility must not be missing. Pride has destroyed many believers. A true Christian can be corrected. A true Christian does not see service as humiliation. Even Jesus Christ washed feet. Greatness in the Kingdom is measured by service, not status.
Integrity is powerful. Your private life must not contradict your public confession. No double standard. No secret darkness. No pretending on Sunday and compromising on Monday. God sees beyond performance.
Obedience is key. Not picking the commands we like and ignoring the ones that inconvenience us. If He says forgive, we forgive. If He says let go, we let go. If He says wait, we wait.
Self-control is maturity. Not every emotion must control you. Not every attraction must be pursued. Not every anger must be expressed. A believer should not be ruled by feelings but by the Spirit.
Compassion is also a core value. Christianity must be practical. It must care. It must give. It must notice pain. A heart that truly knows God cannot comfortably ignore suffering.
Perseverance matters. Christianity is not excitement for one season. It is daily surrender. Daily growth. Daily choosing Christ again and again, even when it is not convenient.
At the end of the day, being a Christian is not about perfection. It is about direction. It is about becoming more like Christ little by little.

RAHAB — GRACE FOR THE UNLIKELY (Joshua 2; 6)
In the fortified city of Jericho, where fear clung to the walls like shadows at dusk, lived a woman many had already judged and dismissed—Rahab. Her story did not begin in a temple or among the righteous. It began in a place of broken reputation and whispered shame. Yet heaven had its eyes on her.
When Israel's spies entered Jericho, danger followed closely behind them. The king's men searched the city, determined to capture these strangers. But Rahab made a choice that would change everything. She hid the spies on her rooftop, beneath stalks of flax, risking her life to protect them. Why? Because she had heard of the God of Israel—the God who parts seas, who defeats enemies, who keeps His promises.
Rahab spoke with a faith that surprised even herself. "The Lord your God," she said, "is God in heaven above and on the earth below." In a city trembling with fear, she chose faith. While others trusted walls and weapons, Rahab trusted God.
Her courage was not perfect. Her past was not clean. But her faith was real.
When Jericho fell, its mighty walls collapsed—but one house stood. Marked by a scarlet cord hanging from the window, Rahab and her family were spared. That scarlet cord became a sign of grace, mercy, and redemption.
Rahab did not remain on the margins. God brought her into His people. She later became part of the lineage of King David—and ultimately, Jesus Christ Himself.
Her story declares this powerful truth: God's grace does not look for the most likely candidate. It looks for the willing heart. No past is too broken. No name is too stained. Faith can rewrite any story.
If God could use Rahab, He can use anyone. Even you!
