The primary role of this player is to score goals. While other players can also score, the striker’s core responsibility in the team is to find the back of the net. Thus, despite the collective effort of the entire team—from defense to attack—to win a match, the striker often carries the major glory and title of the goal scorer when they succeed. This top striker is privileged to play a role where they shoulder the responsibility of claiming the team’s glory as the goal scorer. While the overall credit for winning a match goes to the team, individual credit is given to the scorer of the goals.
