It's not easy to be a Man, yes it's true but it's not easy to be a woman also, a mother to be specific. It's not an easy task to be a good, caring, God fearing, affectionate, loving mother. Especially the breadwinners of the family, the risk takers, the physically and spiritually conscious ones.
Some good mothers take up more responsibilities than the fathers. The take a lot of risk for the children and family's sake. They are relentless in their efforts to make their children progress and succeed in life, to put food on the table for the family.
The fathers, they're the heads of the family, yes, they pay school fees, buy few clothes, and drop money for food, it's good, no doubt. But what about the psychological and emotional aspects? The mothers know more about their children. They know their feelings, they know when the child is troubled, they ask questions, they nurture, they advise, they pray, they fast, they'll go extra miles just for their children. These are things most fathers don't do.
I know most men won't agree to this but it's the simple truth. A man can easily forget his child especially the one he made mistakenly or unintentionally (like they usually claim). But it is never easy or common for a woman, a good woman or mother to forget her child, because they know the pains they went through.
The pains and struggles our mothers go through for us, isn't something we should take for granted. They deserve the best.
It's not mother's day, but I just want to celebrate and appreciate the efforts of our mothers, starting from my mum.
