When we take the time to understand autism, we realize that these children are not “broken” or an anomaly; they simply experience the world differently. With the right support, patience, and inclusion, they can excel in their own unique ways💛

It’s time to change the narrative.
Let’s choose compassion over judgement. Together, we can build a Nigeria where every child is seen, valued, and understood.

Many autistic people have incredible gifts, from art and music to coding, memory and so much more. Every child deserves to be seen for their strengths, not defined by their challenges👌

At Nurture Nest Initiative, we believe in celebrating these unique abilities and creating spaces where every child can grow, learn, and shine in their own special way.

Let’s continue to support, include and uplift autistic children in our communities. Together, we can help them reach their full potential

Every child grows at their own pace, but early diagnosis of autism can greatly support a child’s development and overall wellbeing.

If you notice any of these signs, please don’t panic, reach out to a qualified professional for guidance and assessment. Early support can help a child thrive in school, at home and in their communityđŸ«¶

Let’s continue to create an environment where every child feels seen, understood and supported.

Inclusive education isn’t optional, it is a responsibility we all share.

Autistic children don’t need special treatment; they just need a system that understands them, supports them, and gives them the same chance to learn and grow like every other child👌

Too many families still struggle to find schools that are prepared & properly equipped to accommodate autistic children. This shouldn’t be the norm. Access to education for autistic children is a right, and our systems must reflect that. We need classrooms that adapt, teachers who are trained, and environments where autistic children can feel safe, seen, and encouraged to thrive in their own way.

Real inclusion starts when we stop expecting children to fit into rigid structures and start shaping those structures to fit every child💛

Raising a child with autism in Nigeria comes with unique challenges that needs to be carefully navigated. Many parents of autistic children have also found moments of joy, strength, and growth while raising their children and that deserve to be seen and celebrated👏

To every parent showing up every day with love, patience, and resilience, you are not alone.

Your journey matters. Your child matters. And together, we can build a more understanding and inclusive Nigeria for every child with autism💛

Nurture Nest Initiative series on myths vs facts about autism in Nigeria. In many communities across Nigeria, autism is misunderstood and misdiagnosed, leading to families of autistic kids facing stigma and discrimination💔

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition and early intervention can make a huge difference in the life of kids with autism. Children and adults on the autism spectrum deserve understanding and support, not discrimination, fear or labels.

When we replace myths with facts, we create a kinder world for neurodivergent children to grow, learn, and thrive.Let's speak up. Let's educate. Let's end the stigma👌
