Our mighty God in promising a new life for His people told them categorically that they will blossom like flowers and that they will be firmly rooted and established. The Israelites before this time were taken as exiles to Babylon for seventy years due to their failure to observe the sabbatical rest (2 Chronicles 36:18-21). Their land was thus left desolate and in ruins (though the Emperor sent some people to inhabit some part of the land).

God Almighty, who makes all things new is thus assuring them, that very soon they will be established i.e. they will be immovable, irresistible and no longer will they be taken as captive. It also means that no weapon fashioned against them shall prosper and that no stormy or windy condition will overcome them.

Beloved, I do not know how your past experiences might have been, anyone who is in Christ has as his reward a firmly rooted life. That is, a life deeply rooted in Christ. What this also means is that it is to such people Jesus Christ says that they will do more than He did. Do you desire to be unshakeable? Do you desire not to be affected by the economic and political situation of the nation? Key into the life that Christ has brought by confessing Him as your Lord and personal saviour.

*Prayer point:* Oh Lord, establish me and make me rooted in you in Jesus' Name.
