*GOD WANTS FRIENDSHIP*
And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
_Genesis 3:8 ESV_

God has always wanted friendship with man. He came down in Jesus, walked and worked among men and wants to remain the friend of all. He enjoys companionship. But, men want handouts. Why most people call on God is so that He will meet their needs. What about you?

Adam and Eve hid from God. Why? They sinned. Sin breaks man's friendship with divinity. It devours the spiritual confidence of those who commit it. Sin makes men hide from a face to face contact with God and His Word. Sinners run when no one is after them. Don't ever run from the Lord. He never stops loving anyone. He never hurts anyone.

God should be your all in all. All the good things you desire come from Him. He is the Father of blessings. Did you know that there is nothing good that you have that God has not given you? He created you and has been the one keeping you. Adam and Eve forgot Him and sinned. They broke up with God when they listened to the serpent. Disobedience to God’s Word creates a wide gap between men and God. This is why many think that He is very far away. They cannot believe that He wants to be their Friend. Don't go against God's Word no matter who says you should.

Prophet Elijah stayed close to God, so after the brook dried up and the ravens stayed away, God led him into another source of divine provision. Trust God and depend on Him. He is the best friend you can ever have. When you get to a dead end, turn to Him. He is the Solution. Hezekiah knew this and faced the wall in order to concentrate on God. No man is your source. Do not place any friend above the Lord. Only Jesus can care for you. In your life and family, don't give His place to another. God is the Master at doing new things. Get closer and closer to Him and you will never know a dull moment following the Lord.

A brother learnt to trust the Lord and to do as He says when all of a sudden someone who had been helping him withdrew. The fellow wanted the brother to know how important he (the fellow) was. The experience turned out to be a great lesson because after 'that brook' dried up, the brother turned to the Lord and the Lord opened up a new channel of blessings to him. Stay in obedience. It is our garden of blessing. Seek the face of the Lord and do all you can to be His friend. He made you to give Him pleasure.

*PRAYER GUIDE*
1. Give God praise for His abundant grace and mercy. Thank Him for His protection.
2. Pray for the grace to maintain friendship with Him all the days of your life.
3. Pray for the revival of hunger for God on earth. Commit missionaries into the hands of the Lord and ask Him to grant them success at winning souls for Him.
4. Ask the Holy Ghost to help widows, widowers, orphans, the fatherless, pregnant women, and those trusting God for children to draw closer to Him every day.
5. Pray for the reign of Christ in your country. Pray that God will bring the wickedness of the wicked to an end. Give God praise for His mercies.

*Inspiring Quote*
Obey God in the things he shows you, and instantly the next thing is opened up. God will never reveal more truth about himself until you have obeyed what you know already...this chapter brings out the delight of real friendship with God.

*BE GENEROUS*
The righteous give without sparing.
_Proverbs 21:26 NIV_

Proverbs 11:25 says that a generous person will prosper. This is the truth. You cannot be a blessing and not be blessed yourself. God makes sure that no act of genuine generosity goes unrewarded. Those who sow reap. Seed time and harvest will never cease as long as the earth remains.

Don't just give. Do it willingly and generously, not sparingly. Jesus gave. He gave bountifully. After He fed the multitudes, there were leftovers. When God rained manna from heaven, Israel had more than enough. Surplus water came out of the rock for the people to drink after Moses struck it. The Promised Land flows with milk and honey. Jesus gives life in abundance. When God gives, He gives bountifully. He has promised that whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. You are blessed to be a blessing.

Don't be stingy. It is not the Lord’s way. Can you see in John 7:38 that 'out of the bellies of those that believe flows rivers (not drops) of living water? The Lord never gives sparingly. Look around you everyday, asking the Lord to show you who you should bless. Jesus went about doing good. Those who are His do the same. Don't keep on saving money when your neighbour is hungry or naked. Don't blame people for not working hard. See how you can help them come out of their weaknesses and become the people God wants them to be. Those who close their hearts and eyes to the needs of men cannot become the Lord’s trusted stewards.

Did you know that giving is a way to lay up treasures in heaven? God gave His one and only Son. Don't let anything you have own you. Build wealth in heaven not in banks only. God knows how to reward the generous. Give your time, counsel, help and everything else. Don't be tight fi**ed. Love is kind. Look for ways to put your money into missions. A lot of missionaries need prayer and financial support.

You have to be intentional about our message for today because it is in the nature of man to be selfish. As a baby, you were born with your fist clenched. Babies are born this way. It is like right from the womb babies say, 'This is mine.' Don't hold on so tightly to money or anything else. Let the Lord lead you in all things. This way, you will enjoy true freedom and liberty.

*PRAYER GUIDE*
1. Thank God for the gift of life and for His abundant blessings.
2. Ask for His mercy if you have not been a distributor of His blessings.
3. Pray that He will make you a flowing channel of blessings to those around you.
4. Be a blessing to widows, widowers, orphans, the elderly, fatherless and motherless ones by praying for them.
5. Pray for the revival of giving among believers. Pray for the reign of Jesus in your country. Pray for those who have health challenges. Ask the Lord to continue to protect Jerusalem. Give Him praise for His faithfulness in answering prayers.

*NO TO SELF PITY*
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
_2 Corinthians 2:11_

Self pity is a weapon of the devil that makes one feel sorry for oneself. It often gives one the 'victim mindset' which makes one inactive in life. As a child of God, don't focus your attention on your past mistakes, failures, shortcomings, disappointments or lost opportunities. Think about the promises of God. For you, the future is bright not bleak.

Did you know that the devil has brainwashed many to believe that there is nothing good in them? Some think that everybody is better than them. But, the Bible tells us that we are a peculiar people. Every child of God is chosen and special. You are not a failure. You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. You can do all things through Christ Who strengthens you.

Don't magnify your challenges no matter what they are. The God Who emboldened David, a teenager to confront a violent giant is Our Father. He Who drove the stone cast by David into the skull of the highly equipped Goliath is our God. Nothing you have been through can defeat the force of your faith. Even now, no challenge of yours can withstand the Great I AM.

A particular man was always feeling sorry for himself because he was not as tall or as attractive as his neighbour. That man lived with satanically induced self-pity. But, what he did not know was that the presence of Jesus Christ in men is what makes them blessed, not what they have or do not have.

Resist every feeling of self pity. Don't ever listen to any voice that tells you that you are not as blessed as someone else. Cast down every thought that condemns you for something that happened in the past. Don't keep blaming yourself for the opportunities you missed or the relationships that have broken. Repent of your sins before the Lord and ask Him for healing. He is the Restorer not you. Praise Him for His blessings. You have victory in Jesus not self-pity.

*PRAYER GUIDE*
1. Give God praise for the breath of life and for His wonderful plans for your life.
2. Pray that the Lord in His mercy will deliver His children who are with guilt and self-pity.
3. Pray for the rebirth of His wonders on earth. Ask Him to empower you so that you will slay many giants with His Word.
4. Pray for His anointing upon missionaries in a greater dimension. Ask Him to uphold widows, widowers, orphans, the fatherless, the motherless and the elderly with His mighty hand.
5. Pray that the fame of Jesus will spread in your country and that souls will be genuinely saved. Pray for the peace of Isreal. Give God praise.

*Inspiring Quote*
Self-pity is our worst enemy and if we yield to it, we can never do anything wise in this world.
