Breaking news: Police Arrest Agaba Masquerade Over Violent Attacks in Awgbu

The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the Agaba masquerade involved in a series of unprovoked and violent attacks on innocent citizens in Awgbu, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to the Police, the incident occurred yesterday and resulted in a breach of public peace. The disturbing actions were captured in a viral video currently circulating on social media, which drew widespread public concern.

The Command described the conduct of the masquerade as unlawful and totally unacceptable, emphasizing that no cultural practice or traditional display gives anyone the right to assault or endanger the lives of citizens. The Police stressed that such acts will not be tolerated under any guise in Anambra State.

The arrested suspect is currently in police custody, while investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other people who were involved in or aided the violent conduct. The Police said all those found culpable will be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
