HON. NEWMAN AZU RECEIVED HIGH CHIEF CHINEYE IHENKO (OKPOMPI) AS EZE-ELECT OF ISI OZAA AUT. COMMUNITY.

The Mayor of Ukwa West LGA Hon. Newman Azu was on Wednesday 10th Jan. 2024 received High Chief Chineye Ihenko (a.k.a Okpompi) as Eze Ugo IV of Isi Ozaa Autonomous Community, Ukwa West LGA Of Abia State.

Isi Ozaa Aut. Community which metamorphosed from the Ozaa West Ancient Kingdom due to agitations pulled out to have their own Aut. Community with the following villages Umuodibia, Umuazuba, Umudele and Iwham.

Owing to the death of Late HRH Eze Alpha William Ekekeulu (Eze Ugo III) on 1st April, 2017 which according to the tradition that the late Eze will be morn for three years, High Chief Chineye Ihenko was found worthy to occupy the throne as Eze Ugi IV.

In his speech after receiving High Chief Chineye Iheko as Eze-Elect of Isi Ozaa Aut. Community by the Elders and Kings makers thanked the good people of Umukalu Asa in the way and manners in which the selection of their traditional ruler was done and promise to take him to the appropriate quarters for the recognition and handing over the staff of office by the Abia State Government.

In his acceptance speech, the Eze-Elect Chineye Ihenko thanked his community for finding him worthy as their traditional ruler promise to be of a good ruler as a king while his kingdom reign.
Many dignitaries son, and daughters within Ala Asa grace the event.

UMUEKEKE-ULU WOMEN GET-TOGETHER.

It was a colourful event today 1st Day of Jan. 2024 at Umuekeke-Ulu's Village, as the women of Umuekeke-Ulu village, Umuituru Asa, in Ukwa West LGA begins the year with a thanksgiving get-together.
Highlights of the event includes, Thanking God for keeping them Alive to see the end of 2023 and the beginning of the new year 2024, Welcome Song, Welcome Address by the General Secretary, Akiko Uwa, Qualities of a good woman, Cutting of cake, dancing and refreshment among others.
