There comes a point where you have to stop confusing kindness with unlimited free access to your expertise.

I once had a prospect who reached out for advice. I gladly answered every question, shared my knowledge, provided proof, and even guided him on the best way to move forward. At the end of the conversation, he thanked me and said he would return when he was ready to buy a property. Then he disappeared.

A few months later, he came back with another round of questions. Once again, I generously shared my knowledge, answered everything in detail, and gave him the guidance he needed. He appreciated my help, promised to come back when he was ready, and disappeared again.

Almost a year later, he resurfaced with yet another set of questions.

This time, I handled it differently.

I politely informed him that while I’m always happy to answer a few general questions, detailed guidance and professional advice require a consultation fee. I sent him my consultation rate and invited him to proceed if he wanted my expertise.

He never replied.

That experience taught me a valuable lesson: not everyone seeking information is looking to become a client. Some people are simply looking for free consulting.

As professionals, our knowledge, experience, and time have value. Helping people is important, but so is setting healthy boundaries. Giving away endless free consultations doesn’t build a business—it drains your time and energy.

From now on, I’m happy to offer general guidance, but when it comes to in-depth advice, strategy, due diligence, and professional recommendations, that’s a service worthy of compensation.

Respect your expertise enough to charge for it. The right clients won’t just value your knowledge—they’ll be willing to invest in it.

There is always something to be grateful for.

Today, I’m choosing gratitude over complaints, peace over pressure, and faith over fear.

I’m grateful for life.
I’m grateful for another opportunity to grow.
I’m grateful for every lesson, every delay, every answered prayer, and even the ones that are still unfolding.

Not every day is perfect, but every day carries a reason to be thankful.

I’ve learned that when you focus on what you have instead of what you lack, your heart becomes lighter and your vision becomes clearer.

So today, I simply want to say:

Thank You, God. For the gift of life, for strength when I felt weak, for hope when I couldn’t see the way, and for the grace that has carried me this far.
