With heavy hearts and total submission to the will of God, we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Late Mama Hanatu Charles Dongnim.
Mama lived a fulfilled life—one of love, humility, and service to both God and her people. In true Tarok tradition, she was a pillar of strength in her family and community, a woman whose wisdom and quiet sacrifices built generations.
She was the proud mother of Mr. Emmanuel Lar, former President of Tarok Entertainment and Creative Industry (TECI) and Peace Ambassador of Tarok Nation. Her legacy lives on through him and all her children, who carry forward the values she stood for.
As we say in our land, “A good mother never truly leaves—she lives on in the lives she raised and the values she planted.”
Though her voice is now silent, her teachings remain loud in our hearts. Though she has gone to rest, her impact will continue to speak in our homes and community.
We pray that the Almighty grants her soul eternal rest and gives the entire family the strength to bear this great loss.
Adieu Mama… rest well in the bosom of the Lord. You have fought a good fight. 🕊️💔

Controversy Trails Chairman’s 2025 Budget as Activist Raises Alarm Over Alleged Mismanagement
Langtang, Plateau State — Fresh concerns have emerged over the 2025 budget of the Chairman’s Office, following allegations of financial mismanagement and lack of transparency raised by civic advocate, Nansel Selnan Lar.
According to documents released by Lar, the Chairman’s Office has a total approved budget of ₦476 million for 2025. A breakdown of the figures shows significant allocations across several expenditure lines, including ₦289.1 million for overhead costs, ₦60 million for travel and transport, and ₦137 million earmarked for security votes.
Performance records attached to the document indicate substantial spending already incurred, with ₦257 million recorded under overhead costs and ₦53 million spent on travel and transport, including ₦35 million for local travel categorized as “others.”
Particularly contentious are allocations under subsidies and miscellaneous expenses. The report shows ₦136 million budgeted for general subsidies, with actual spending rising to ₦219 million, while subsidies to private companies also reportedly exceeded projections, reaching ₦215 million against a ₦130 million budget. Similarly, ₦83 million was allocated for miscellaneous expenses, with ₦75 million already spent.
Lar questioned the justification for several of these expenditures, calling on the Chairman to provide clarity. Among his concerns are the frequency of official travel, the impact of subsidy spending on constituents, and the rationale behind high allocations for sitting allowances and security votes.
He further queried the ₦30 million reportedly spent on satellite broadcast services, despite claims of inconsistent electricity supply in the area.
In a strongly worded statement, Lar issued a one-week ultimatum to the Chairman’s Office to publicly release the names of contractors linked to the 2025 projects. He warned that failure to comply would deepen suspicions of “ghost projects” and diversion of public funds.
“I am currently at 30 percent of my findings,” Lar stated, adding that he intends to publish updates every two days as part of an ongoing investigation into budget implementation and missing projects.
He also revealed plans to conduct a comparative analysis of the 2024, 2025, and 2026 budgets, aimed at exposing what he described as “repeated project allocations and possible financial diversion patterns.”
The Chairman’s Office has yet to respond to these allegations at the time of filing this report.
Observers say the unfolding situation could trigger broader calls for accountability and transparency in local government spending, particularly as citizens demand clearer evidence of how public funds are utilized.
