At the health department, I was told I need to go for a food handler test.
They’ll check my health, inspect my production process, and even verify where I operate from.
The cost?
for the test,
And if approved, I’ll still pay more which i don't know the exact amount it's going to cost me, and to be allowed to sell there — plus tax on sales.
At first, I paused.
Not because it’s impossible…
But because it made me think deeper.

I didn’t share everything that happened yesterday… but I think I should.
I went back again to the office that asked me to bring samples.
This time, I was taken to their health department.
They were speaking Yoruba… I didn’t understand the words, but from their body language, it felt like:
“This lady has been coming here for days… please consider her.”
That moment meant something to me.
Because it showed that consistency speaks — even when people don’t fully know you yet.
Then they turned to me and explained what I need to do before I can sell my product there…
Honestly, it made me realise something:
Selling food — especially something people and babies consume — is not something to do casually.
It requires structure. Cleanliness. Trust.
