I found a spot for Bole and Fish πͺ΅ with a touch of other orishirishi π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί
I tried the popular amala and ewedu/gbegiri meal for the first time during my last visit to Lagos and it was not a bad one after all.
Thing is, I'm not sure itβs something Iβd love to try again or not. The slimy soup was giving ogbono vibes and I'm not a fan of ogbono. The yellow soup that was added was giving potash (a liquid substance we use to make abacha in my place - we call it "ncha"). I was only familiar with the stew and eating swallow with stew is a no no for me. If it is not soup, take your swallow back and give me rice instead.
I really love the amala swallow itself. Felt more like wheat or something like it. It was light and I think Iβd love to try it with some other soups that are not ewedu or gbegiri.
I give the amala meal a 6/10 rating. Maybe when next I visit a Yoruba land, preferably Ibadan, I'd love to try it again; to pass my final verdict π€
