Their Essence Foundation

In line with the marking of The Girl Child Day worldwide, Their Essence Foundation made out time to share some love with some of the girls who had made the Calabar dump site their abode for lack of proper shelter.

On it's mandate, the committee set out on investing in the Girl Child for a brighter and more equal future. Taking steps to rid the environment of street girls, thereby creating a safer space for the girls.

Highlights of the day were the sorting and transporting of girls from the Lemna Dump Site to the American Corner at The Women Development centre, Calabar.
Here, the Children were given the feeling of a better life, charged on the need to be better citizens and also encouraged not to give up on their dreams. The children accessed free healthcare and medical tests, games and dance and a meal for all.
These children were returned to the site after the days event with promises to ease their transition to better citizens at least with skill acquisitions and a bag pack of toiletries, sanitary pads and other items to make life comfortable at the least.
Moral of the day? Their smiles gave a sense not just of fulfillment, but the need to do more.
