CSS Introduction

CSS is the language we use to style a Web page.

What is CSS?

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets

CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed on screen, paper, or in other media

CSS saves a lot of work. It can control the layout of multiple web pages all at once

External stylesheets are stored in CSS files

Like HTML, CSS is not a programming language.
It's not a markup language either. CSS is a style sheet language.
CSS is what you use to selectively style HTML elements.
For example, this CSS selects paragraph text, setting the color to red:

p {
color: red;
}

To make the code work, we still need to apply this CSS (above) to your HTML document. Otherwise, the styling won't change the appearance of the HTML.
