🚨 BREAKING: Pure Water Producers Hike Price of Sachet Bag from ₦220 to ₦300 🚨
The Association of Table Water Producers (ATWAP), Kano State chapter, has announced a sharp increase in the price of a bag of sachet pure water.
- Old price: ₦220 per bag
- New price: Minimum ₦300 per bag
The adjustment was announced today, March 11, 2026, and takes immediate effect.
Reasons given by the producers:
- Unsustainable rise in production costs (materials up by about two-thirds)
- Printing film now costs ₦3,700
- Gas and fuel at ₦1,500 per litre
- Heavy reliance on generators due to unstable electricity supply
ATWAP Chairman Ahmad Bala Hudu said the hike is “necessary to prevent the collapse of the sachet water production industry,” while Public Relations Officer Anas Idris Hassan described it as a “last resort” to keep producing safe drinking water.
This will directly affect millions of Nigerians who rely on affordable sachet water daily.

🚨 FLASH: Court Grants ICPC Another 14 Days to Detain Ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai 🚨
The Federal High Court in Abuja has just approved an extension allowing the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to detain Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai for another 14 days.
Key details:
- The order was granted today (March 11, 2026) following an ex-parte application by the ICPC.
- El-Rufai was initially arrested and detained on corruption allegations linked to his time as Kaduna State Governor.
- The ICPC argued that more time is needed to complete investigations, recover documents, and interview witnesses.
- This is the second detention extension — the first 14-day remand was granted earlier this month.
El-Rufai's legal team has strongly opposed the continued detention, describing it as "unjust" and "politically motivated," while the ICPC insists the probe is evidence-based and ongoing.
The case continues to generate massive public debate across Nigeria.

🚨 BREAKING: House Democrats Edge Closer to Trump Impeachment Vote – Just 2 Votes Short of Advancing Effort Before March 31 Deadline 🚨
Washington is on edge as House Democrats reportedly need only two more votes to push forward with a resolution that could lead to President Donald Trump's removal from office before the critical March 31 procedural cutoff.
According to multiple Capitol Hill sources and emerging reporting:
- Democratic leadership has been quietly whipping votes over the past 72 hours.
- The resolution (details still under wraps in full) centers on charges of abuse of power, obstruction of Congress, and actions alleged to endanger national security.
- If the two votes flip, the measure would reach the House floor for a full impeachment vote, the first attempt against a president in his second non-consecutive term.
- Republican sources acknowledge internal fractures, with at least a handful of moderates and swing-district members reportedly wavering under intense pressure from both sides.
This is no ordinary political skirmish.
The outcome, whether it succeeds or fails, will test the resilience of America's constitutional checks and balances at one of the most polarized moments in modern history.
Key questions now dominating discussions:
- Will enough Republicans cross party lines to allow the measure to advance?
- Can Democrats meet the March 31 deadline without triggering a backlash that strengthens Trump’s position?
- Does this moment strengthen democratic accountability or expose how deeply divided and dysfunctional the system has become?
History will judge this chapter not just by who wins the vote, but by whether the institutions designed to constrain power actually function when the stakes are existential.
What do you think, will those two votes materialize, or will the effort collapse? Drop your prediction below 👇
