One of the best decisions I made a while ago is to...
..promise myself that whenever the chance comes, I'll only train candidates STRICTLY with the exact exam condition.

For instance:

If you're supposed to Listen to the audio (in the Listening test) just once

I'll ensure that your practice (in the Listening practice session) is invalid if you

👉 still take calls

👉 Attend to your kids or husband

👉 Pause the audio

And many more...

Before continuing.

Why?

Because it is unrealistic!

You won't be able to do the same thing on your IELTS exam day.

1 Practice that can 10X your exam performance

Of recent, I was teaching a special candidate and...

I was getting close to being frustrated.

Why? Because almost everything I was teaching her was not producing the expected results on her end.

❌️Her listening performance was a whack

❌️Her writing was slightly above average

❌️Her reading scores from the tests I gave her was highly discouraging

Then I decided to try one more thing.

This time, no teaching just dialogue

Why? Because I have taught over 5 thousand candidates in our free classes and over 500 that have joined our Masterclasses

Plus the fact that, I got massive results both from the free and the Masterclasses

Which begged for question: why is her performance not adding up?

So while we had this dialogue, I asked her a question which gave me insight into her poor performance.

Me: What language do you speak dominantly; at home, work, and everywhere you go?

Her: Yoruba language

Me: What kind of movies, songs, articles you read on a daily basis

To my shock, she still responded that she enjoyed doing all these activities in her local dialect.

It was at this point I found the missing puzzle.

I understood why she had underperformed in all those tests that I gave her.

My point?

If you want to 10X your performance in your upcoming exam, then you need to start

👉 Consuming more English language contents like songs, podcasts, news, movies, etc

👉 Expressing yourself in English via speaking and writing

Will help you increase your proficiency in this language more and more.

When people say to me...

Instructor Daniel, I don't want an online class because I'll not be serious with it.

I need a class that can stress me

I physical class that I'll have to go from time to time, that I can see the tutor and have a physical interaction with other candidates.

Each time I hear this...

I can tell you that 9/10 times it is pure laziness that is speaking.

Why? Because I have seen numerous candidates that paid for both online classes and physical classes and yet didn't show up.

In fact, it has become a normal thing for us tutors to be paid for classes, materials, etc and find the same candidate that paid out of sweat, blood, and tears, not go through their classes or materials.

So what's the problem?

It's definitely not online classes

And it's not even the distance or what ever thing they want to complain about the physical classes

Rather it is LAZINESS and INDISCIPLINE

Nothing more

Nothing less
