The death of Wale, the bodyguard of music promoter Samson Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, in a road accident has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many sympathising with his family while others linked the incident to the controversial death of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Sam Larry and Wale were involved in a road accident along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road in the early hours of Saturday, July 4. While the music promoter survived and is reportedly receiving medical treatment, Wale died at the scene.

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has presented a proposed ₦1.854 trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill to the Rivers State House of Assembly, marking his first appearance before the Martin Amaewhule-led Assembly since the political crisis that divided the legislature in 2023.

The plenary commenced with Speaker Martin Amaewhule taking his seat in full regalia ahead of the governor’s arrival. A motion to admit the governor into the chamber was moved by Majority Leader Major Jack and seconded by Minority Leader Sylvanus Nwankwo before Fubara formally presented the budget proposal.

The exercise, held on Thursday, was aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness and encouraging residents to take responsibility for proper waste management within the local government area.
